To obtain a Firearms Licence (Category A, B,and Collector) or Concealable Firearm Licence Category H), you must undertake a Weapons Safety Course, and obtain a Statement of Attainment: this course is conducted at the Club.
There is a limit on the number of people that can attend each course: therefore you must register to obtain a position. Late registrations will only be accepted if numbers permit
To register for the Safety Course contact Don McBryde on 0419 659 168. PLEASE NOTE that you must register a minimum of one week prior to the course.
Courses are NORMALLY held on the second or third Saturday of each month at Murrumba Pistol Club, Old Gympie Road, Caboolture. Courses are not held during January and December of each year. Please note that due to Club competitions, there could be changes as the year progresses. Should you have any doubt, please check with Don McBryde at least one week prior.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: From 1/1/2015 the Federal Government has advised that anyone enrolling in any training course for whatever, now has to have a Unique Student Identifier Number. Go to www.usi.gov.au click on ‘Create your U.S.I.’ and complete the short online registration process. Once done, you will receive your own USI number which must be kept safe and used for any recognised training course. Print an extra copy of the number and bring it with you to the Safety Course as this has to be attached to your paperwork. Without it a Statement of Attainment cannot be issued.
REGISTRATION and Commencement at 8:30 a.m.
Course concludes at approximately 4:00 p.m.
Requirements for the Safety Course – YOU WILL NEED –
- PHOTO I.D. – (drivers licence, passport, school I.D. etc.).
- Fully enclosed footwear – (NO thongs, sandals, etc.)
- Shirt – T Shirt is OK – (shoulder and upper arms must be covered)
- Fees – cash or cheque, payable on the day – NO eftpos, credit card facilities available
- USI number (Refer important notice above)
